What level of return over what term can I expect?

The minimum investment term we offer is 12 months with a return on investment of circa 30%.  However, we can individually structure the investment terms to meet your needs.

Who organises the tax claim with HMRC?

We will provide your accountant with all the information before you invest.  We suggest that our accountant handles personal claims as they are very experienced in this area. In respect of a corporation tax claim, this would typically be controlled by your accountant.

Are the investments legal?

Yes, all the investments are in Uk and international corporate and taxation law.

Why doesn't my accountant know about the investments?

The law is very involved with many different specialist areas.  It would be unlikely that any professional would know all the laws and opportunities.

There is no such thing as a guarantee and if you want a guarantee your the wrong candidate for these investments.

Can I lose my investment?

Tax relief has funded the investment in most cases, so technically if the venture failed for any reason, you would only lose the tax relief you would have paid to HMRC.

However, the investment in trees is very safe; the trees are at their most vulnerable in the first two years when a wildfire is a potential threat. Skilled plantation management helps to reduce the unlikely risk of fire.

Why is the investment grossed up (£11,500 to £50,000)?

The plantation gross up the investment for a very simple reason.  Firstly, you are entitled to the return on the first cut of the trees only.  However, the plantation benefits from all the subsequent cuts.  That could be as many as nine!

Is there a tax liability at the maturity point?

Yes, there is a tax liability when the trees are sold as they are classed as trading income for income and corporation tax purposes.  Depending on the allowances and reliefs available at the time of maturity the tax liability may be able to be mitigated.

Who can invest in the trees?

Individuals earning over £100,000 per annum or with £250,000 in assets excluding their principal residence.  Companies can also invest we will discuss the affordability with you.  The primary consideration is that the investments are right for you and the providers.

Are the investments regulated?

The investments in trees is a business venture and are governed by Uk and International Accountancy law.  The investment funds are managed and regulated in the Republic of Ireland by the Central Bank of Ireland.

UK Money Laundering rules will need to be followed, including proof of your identity.

Can I Invest my Pension Fund?

The Investment is a permissible investment for Small Self Administered Pension Funds (SASS).  However, it is not allowed for Self Invested Personal Pension (SIPPs) at this time.
